Joya lady

Welcome!

Joya owners Suzann Jaagus and Paulette Yost met when their sons Thomas and Tom were in the third grade. Each had different career paths; Suzann a teacher and realtor, Paulette a health care food service professional. They became fast friends through their active roles in the elementary school PTO. Their friendship led to several family vacations together. In fact, their business plan and the JOYA name were developed on a Martha’s Vineyard beach.

What's In a Name? JOYA is derived from scrambling the first two letters of Suzann and Paulette’s last names. The word also means jewel or “gem” in Spanish.

The duo opened their first “gem” of a shop in 1998, followed by a second boutique opening five years later. Over the years the JOYA girls have been featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer Magazine (Style, March 2003) and on the “10 Show” multiple times doing fashion makeovers.

JOYA’S mission is simple—they offer great boutique fashions at a reasonable price, they provide a welcoming place with helpful suggestions and service, they create eye candy displays which emphasize great merchandising to enhance their customers shopping experience and always remember their responsibility to their community through donations and fundraisers.
